Itinerary at a ​Glance

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, an Akagera Aviation representative will greet you at the arrival gate, holding a name sign. You will be escorted to a VIP lounge to relax and enjoy a soft drink while your luggage is collected and your travel documents are processed. The representative will then guide you through customs and introduce you to your Lango Safaris driver-guide, who will transfer you to your hotel for an overnight stay in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Genocide Memorial

Spend the day exploring Kigali’s cultural and historical highlights, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Kigali.

Day 3: Kigali to Nyungwe National Park

Depart Kigali for a scenic six-hour drive to Nyungwe National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage rain forest in Rwanda’s southwest.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk

• 4:30 AM: After an early packed breakfast, transfer to the Nyungwe National Park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a thrilling chimpanzee trekking experience.
• Return to the lodge for lunch.
• In the afternoon, enjoy an exhilarating canopy walk over the rainforest.

Day 5: Nyungwe to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, depart for Volcanoes National Park, located in northwestern Rwanda, approximately a five-hour drive.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience

• 6:30 AM: After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking experience.
• After an unforgettable encounter with the mountain gorillas, trek back to base and meet your driver-guide for the return transfer to your lodge.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure

• 6:30 AM: After breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a Golden Monkey trekking experience.
• After the trek, return to the lodge for freshening up.
• Transfer back to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
