Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

  • Meet & Greet: Arrive in Kigali, where our representative will welcome you.
  • Optional City Tour: Explore Kigali’s highlights, such as the Genocide Memorial, to understand Rwanda’s history.
  • Overnight: Enjoy a comfortable city hotel stay.

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park & Gorilla Trek

  • Scenic Drive: Journey through Rwanda’s picturesque hills to Volcanoes National Park.
  • Gorilla Trekking: After a pre-trek briefing, venture into the misty forest to observe a habituated gorilla family.
  • Community Visit (Optional): Visit a nearby cultural village in the afternoon.
  • Overnight: Lodge near Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3: Transfer to Uganda & Bwindi Gorilla Encounter

  • Cross-Border Transfer: Travel north, crossing into Uganda toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
  • Second Gorilla Trek: Trek with expert guides for another hour with a different gorilla family (time permitting, depending on permits).
  • Overnight: Forest lodge in Bwindi, surrounded by lush greenery.

Day 4: Travel to Kibale Forest & Chimp Trek

  • Morning Drive: Depart Bwindi for Kibale Forest.
  • Chimpanzee Trek: Explore one of Africa’s most primate-rich habitats, tracking chimps and spotting other monkey species.
  • Bigodi Wetland (Optional): Short walk to see diverse birdlife and smaller primates.
  • Overnight: Lodge near Kibale Forest.

Day 5: Departure via Entebbe (or Kigali)

  • Return Journey: Head to Entebbe (Uganda) or back to Kigali (Rwanda), depending on flight options.
  • Extend If You Wish: Continue your East African exploration with a classic savanna safari or beach break.
