Day 1: Welcome to Kigali

  • Arrive in Rwanda's vibrant capital. Kigali is safe, clean, and full of history and modern flair. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a city tour, visit the Genocide Memorial, explore local art galleries, and experience Kigali’s warm hospitality.

Day 2–3: Into the Wild – Akagera National Park

  • Head east to Akagera National Park, home to Rwanda’s Big Five. Stay at the serene Magashi Lodge, nestled beside Lake Rwanyakazinga. Go on game drives, spot elephants, lions, and giraffes, or enjoy a boat safari at sunset.

Day 4–5: Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park

  • Travel north to the lush forests of Volcanoes National Park. Stay at the luxurious Bisate Lodge. On Day 5, the highlight: an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience – come face to face with a mountain gorilla family. Optional golden monkey trek or village visit.

Day 6: Into the Rainforest – Nyungwe National Park

  • Drive southwest along breathtaking hills to Nyungwe Forest, one of Africa’s oldest rainforests. Spend the night at One&Only Nyungwe House, an eco-luxury retreat on a tea plantation.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Encounter

  • Early morning, head into the forest to track chimpanzees. Watch them swing through the canopy and witness their playful behavior. In the afternoon, relax or take a canopy walk above the forest.

Day 8: Return to Kigali & Departure

  • Scenic drive back to Kigali for your flight home, with optional stops for craft shopping or lunch. You leave with your heart full and memory card overflowing.
